Lantern Boy™ began as a drawing for the quiet stretch between knowing and not knowing: the pause at the threshold, when the old life has loosened its grip but the next life has not yet announced itself.
He is not a hero because he has conquered the dark. He is a companion because he is willing to carry a small light through it. The cap gives him a place to travel, out into the weather, into ordinary days, alongside you.
